A member asked:

I heard that hydrogen peroxide can be used to whiten my teeth, is it safe?

Not that kind : Hydrogen peroxide at higher concentrations will whiten your teeth. The store sells it at 3%, i believe. This will not whiten your teeth. You will need at least 10% or up to 35%. Nevertheless, this is only available in teeth whitening products. Your dentist is a great resource for options but strips like those from crest will work, professional take home trays or in-office treatments, better!

No: Use only approved treatments for whitening teeth. The usual chemical for whitening teeth is carbamide peroxide.
