A member asked:

Is hydrogen peroxide bad for teeth? if it is, what is a safe way to whiten your teeth?

Good if diluted.: Brush with whitening toothpaste twice daily. After, get otc 3% hydrogen peroxide (active ingredient for all teeth whitening agents). Mix 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 2 parts water. Rinse twice daily. Safe to use twice daily after brushing. Electric toothbrushes work better too. Tea, coffee, soda, smoking are, in order, stain-causers. And see your dentist for a cleaning! don't want to whiten plaque.

3% Peroxide: The hydrogen peroxide you would purchase at your drugstore is only about 3%, but overuse can burn your gums a bit. In addition, it really won't whiten your teeth that much. You can try otc whitening strips, toothpastes, etc, and see if they help. All are safe when used as directed. Your dentist also has stronger products that work faster and better.
