Yes: Yes, she will need a visit with the orthopedist and a cast for a few weeks.

Depends: Most do will with a supportive forearm splint x 3 wks but this is something your pcp must decide after a hands on exam. If they find the buckle fracture atypical or have other concerns they may send you to an orthopedist for his/her input on rx.
