I have a buckle fracture in my left wrist. is it necessary to get a cast or could i just leave a splint on it?

Splint may be fine: A splint may be fine, depending upon time from injury and x-ray status. If you are already more than a couple weeks out from injury, a splint is likely fine, as long as it adequately protects your injured bone from further harm during the full 6 weeks of healing usually required for such a fracture.
