A member asked:

My daughter 17 mo has a buckle fracture in her arm both bones and is in a splint. is is still ok for her to use her arm? crawl? put any weight on it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually: A buckle fracture is like a dent in a beer can.It is common in kids (bones are tubular). It is stable and the fracture won't worsen or fail to heal if some stress is placed on the bone. The splint is more for comfort than stability. The bone nerves are located on the outside surface and this buckle can hurt as bad as a real break.
