I know there's no such thing as a "safe nsaid", but what would you recommend for long term usage for a pt w/ gerd?

No specific: All nsaids can cause damage to the GI tract. If you require long-term use of nsaids, then discuss with your prescribing doctor how to best protect your GI tract. This is not a forum to advise on specific medications, as such advice requires knowledge of the entire medical history of a patient.
