Various: The symptom would be a mass on the jaw. Cancerous mass on the jaw can be caused by a growth on the jaw bone itself -i.e. Bone cancer; or can be caused by a growth of the lymphatic gland around the jaw area- and this can be a manifestation of lymphoma or cancer spreading from a cancer that is originated on the head and neck area. However, infection/inflammation can also cause swelling on the jaw.

Tobacco ETOH: Risk factors for devoloping oral cavity (gum, mandible, tongue, cheek, lip, hard palate) cancer include tobacco (cigarette or chewing), excessive alcohol, poor dental hygiene, family history, and excessive sun exposure). Men higher risk. Average age 50. Symptoms range from pain, bleeding, change in color of tongue, lumps/bumps. Symptoms difficult to separate from infection. See md.
