Days: Most epidural injections take 2-3 days before a benefit is appreciated. It can take up to ten days. Sometimes more than one is needed to get significant benefit.

Epidural: Much will depend on what drug was administered and in what dose. Additionally, the etiology of your pain will have a major effect on whether the epidural is efficacious. You may have complete relief, some relief or not relief depending on the above. It is not unusual for patient's to not see significant relief for several days as some agents administered may require this time frame.
