Wound healing: There are too many types of wounds to accurately answer your question. Repost with the location and or type of wound. Wounds should not remain 'open' to air; they require moisture on the surface to heal properly.

help healing: The trick is to minimize things that slow down healing. Keeping the wound covered with using protective dressing changes every other day is a start. Minimize trauma to the area and keep it at rest. Avoid using things that slow down healing like peroxide, alcohol, and betadine and medicines like Motrin or advil (ibuprofen). These are general rules that will help heal any wound anywhere.
