Rinse your mouth out: If you have stiches and food is stuck you may need to go to your surgeon to have them get it out. If you rinse your mouth out after every meal then they will stay clean. You can ask your surgeon for a syringe to help rinse out the food around your stiches. Be careful and try not to tear them.

Rinse and brush: You can rinse with water and gently brush over the surgical site to remove any food particles. If that does not provide relief, your surgeon may provide you with a syringe to rinse or irrigate the area to help keep the site clean.
