A member asked:

A varicoceles can been seen via ct scan? i had a ct scan and the report is normal, no varicoceles were seen.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not usually: Varicoceles are usually identified by ultrasound with color doppler evaluation. It would be uncommon to do a dedicated ct of the scrotum, so assuming you had a standard pelvic ct, the scrotum and its contents are not usually included in the field of view. But if they are, even a varicocele of moderate size may go unnoticed.
