What is the longest for acute pharyngitis, my doc says it's acute but had for 16days given antibiotic on 10th day, is it acute for leaving it a bit late?

Acute vs chronic: Anywhere from 40-80% of pharyngitis is viral. Antibiotics on the 10th day was to ensure it was not bacterial ie strep (but strep test should have been performed). It is a little late to call it acute anymore...But that is just semantics. The focas should be on curing your situation. An ENT may be able to help.
