Hard to say.: Where in the neck? 5mm is very tiny. If you felt something that small i imagine it is very superficial. Could be a small lymph node or cyst. Very unlikely to be a cancer. It would be too small for ct evaluation. If it gets larger an ultrasound would probably be the next step to evaluate its' character. Advantage is no radiation to your young neck!
