A member asked:

What is the treatment for chronic focal gastritis? found on upper endoscopy.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on cause...: Common causes include: Aspirin or NSAID (ibuprofen, advil, aleve, (naproxen) etc.) use & h.Pylori infection. Caustic ingestion, excessive alcohol intake, tobacco use should all be avoided as precipitating factors. Minimizing nsaid's (unless prescribed) is recommended. Sometimes, stomach injury reflects systemic disease. Acid suppression rx, & eradicating h.Pylori if present, are hallmarks of treatment.
