No home remedies: Periodontal problems need to be treated by a dentist or periodontist. Hard calculus and deep pocketing need to be treated to allow your gums to heal. There are no diy treatments for this problem. Once treated, then you can maintain your newfound good health with the many products that are made to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

Visit a dentist: Swollen gums can be a sign that you are at risk for, or already have, gum disease. Untreated gingivitis can advance to periodontitis and can eventually lead to the gap between the teeth, tooth loss and other health problems. See your dentist if you suspect you have gum disease because the sooner you treat it the better the outcome.
