Help relax and sleep: People with autism or asperger's syndrome often feel more comfortable with additional weight pressing against them. This can help them relax and sleep better at night. According to the autism speaks website, some insurance companies will even cover the cost of these if the claim is filled out properly. Weighted vests may : Help for daytime, too. Make & stuff with rice/other non-toxic material. Dr. D gave you a great resource. Temple grandin's earlier books also help. Kids with autism over- or under-react to input from all 5 senses. Intensive behavioral & educational intervention at 3 should yield very good results (aba, denver model). Call child find of your public school district if he's not in ecse already.
