Absolutely: Swelling is not normal. It indicates a problem which may be simple to treat or serious. Only with a one on one clinical exam and x-rays can a dentist determine what is wrong and then recommend appropriate treatment. Little problems usually become big problems if left untreated. Be smart and call for an appointment.
