Post wisdom teeth extraction - swelling is gone but the pain the still there. what could be wrong?

Some patients describe the discomfort as pain while others describe it as soreness. The length of time for pain/soreness can vary for each patient. Expected and Common: Having pain after wisdom teeth surgery is expected and common. However, if pain is severe or continues for more than four days after the extraction, you should call your dentist/ surgeon for post-op examination.
