Pain or Sore?: Not sure how long ago you had surgery, so a definitive answer may be hard to provide. Removal of wisdom teeth is usually associated with varying degrees of discomfort. Some patients describe the discomfort as pain while others describe it as soreness. The length of time for pain/soreness can vary for each patient. If you are having acute pain, you should contact your surgeon.

Expected and Common: Having pain after wisdom teeth surgery is expected and common. However, if pain is severe or continues for more than four days after the extraction, you should call your dentist/ surgeon for post-op examination.
