See Dentist: Nerve damage may take a while to heal, and most do. This is to evaluate over the next weeks and months. However your swelling is something else. Usually using warm moist compresses on this area several times a day is the best thing to do. Also starting on a short course of an antibiotic is in order since the swelling of tissue and fluid accumulation is a home for bacteria to flourish.

Swelling: Swelling 1month post extraction is of concern, and may be affecting your numbness. Please return to your treating Dentist or Oral Surgeon ASAP for reevaluation.

See oral surgeon: Contact the oral surgeon that performed the extraction. There are many variables, if the numbness is reducing that is a good sign. If the numbness continues, a neurosurgeon may be needed, don't wait as time is of the essence.
