Not neccesary: But if you have significant gastric reflux it can cause sorethroat & can cause damage to your lungs even fibrosis & bronchiectasis. Get evaluated.

See a pulmonologist: Your sore throat may be of many possible causes. You may be having acid reflux, may have infection extending from the tracheobronchial tree, or one of multiple other causes. Go and get this diagnosed and treated appropriately, and hope you do not smoke.
