Elavil (amitriptyline): Taking the medication at bedtime might help, along with discussing alternative medications with your prescribing doctor. Wish u well.

Why: Amitriptyline is used for depression or some forms of chronic pain. Though it does often increase appetite, i doubt this was the primary reason prescribed. Let your doctor know all of your symptoms as you have not given enough information.
