Peri recital abscess: Can be handled with antibiotics but also requires surgical drainage. Not the prerview of gastroenterologist but general surgeon.

Maybe: If you are asking if pain medication should have been prescribed the answer is it is up to an individual physician to decide. It is likely your doctor wasn't comfortable prescribing these for whatever reason.
