One of two ways: Some torn meniscus have to be trimmed to smooth margin because they will not heal if stitch them back. Some kind of meniscus tears, if you repair them they heal back.

Arthroscopy.: Usually arthroscopic surgery is indicated for that. Outpatient procedure that takes about a half hour.
