Protein: Take your weight in pounds and divide by 2.2 (that gives you your weight in kilograms. The average adult needs about 0.8 to 1gram of protein per kilogram of weight.
As for sugar.... Wheither simple sugar or complex carbohydrates- for a typical diet, about 15- 20% of the calories from protein, 60-65% of the calories from carbohydrates, whole grains and fiber rich products instead of simple sugars.
