Need to see area: We can't evaluate your situation without actually personally examining you and seeing current x-rays of the area that concerns you. If you question your dentist's clinical judgment or your treatment, you can consider seeing another dentist for a second opinion.

It: Wasn't mentioned how is the consistency of the bump- is it soft or pliant, or hard? Is it by the tongue area of the tooth or by the cheek? Did the doctor mention a word like "torus" that might had been there from the beginning but wasn't noticeable before? It can also be a mere bone protuberance or growth that can't hurt you unless you need dentures.

LANAP & Surgery: Both treat the results of the problem, but do little to treat the cause. Look into perioprotect.Com and find a dentist near you who does this non-invasive treatment. It relies on the benefit of peroxide to kill the bacteria that cause periodontal disease. This peroxide is placed into specially designed trays and worn daily to significantly reduce bacteria, thereby allowing the patient to heal.

Check it out: Sometime the overlying peridontal tissue pocket closes retaining the infection within the pocket of the gum, and will clinically appear as a small bump as the infection cannot drain.

Problem: If you had scaling and root planing 4 months post - lanap, you may have an issue. This is not recommended and can jeopardize your lanap results. It may or may not be related to the bump. Is the lanap dr. The same one who did the deep cleaning and says no problem?
