Possibly: The clearing up of mucus from the lungs depends on the cause and the patient's underlying lung health. It also depends on how well the antibiotics work on the infection . Green mucus often means an infection with bacteria germs, so let your doctor know. This might be what they expect or they might want to change your antibiotic. Are there other symptoms like fever, cough, weight loss?
