GPC: Gram positive cocci refer to the description of the bacteria. The next part of the description that you did not mention is the grouping of the bacteria..like gram positive cocci in chains, clusters or pairs. That helps define what they are. In general GPC are staphlococcus, streptococcus and enterococcus species.
