Worse with infection: Asthma does not cause a fever. Asthma can certainly worsen with a cold or other illness. If asthma requires daily use of his rescue inhaler he is not in good control. It sounds like he needs to be seen to diagnose a sinus infection or walking pneumonia, and to possibly get Prednisone to control his asthma. It is very important that he takes his steroid inhaler every day.
