Biopsy: If you have nafld and are concerned about cirrhosis, the gold standard would be liver biopsy if non-invasive studies are inconclusive. Some academic centers have fibroscan availability, which may be a non-invasive alternative.

See below: Sounds like you have both nafld and hcv? The best way to assess damage is to do the biopsy as you have already done. Your liver doc should be able to put this all together for your specific case.
