A member asked:

I have been diagonised as nafld. no hbsag and hcv. can i take alocohol once in a month?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes...: Fatty liver disease is the most common cause of elevated lfts. Some patients with fatty liver experience progression of liver disease to cirrhosis. Knowing alcohol is a hepatotoxin (poison), consumption can accelerate existing liver disease in dose dependent fashion. Having one or two drinks per month is probably safe and not enough negatively impact your liver.
