Very Unlikely: While use of garlic preparations has been promoted to aid in management of cholesterol clinical trials have not shown a significant, consistent benefit of consuming garlic. Regarding gastrointestinal (GI) use, no clear body of evidence suggests garlic has a beneficial effect. If large amounts of garlic are consumed adverse GI effects (gas, heartburn, nausea, diarrhea) are common.
