Eustress vs Distress: "stress" means different things to different people, but generally refers to feelings of physical, mental, or emotional strain or tension. This can be triggered by situations that you feel demand more from you than you can handle. Good stress? Having a deadline can help you stay on task and perform better -- like for a presentation or exam. Inner desire to grow can result in "good" stress also.

How about having a: New baby. It is a joy - but can be so stressful (lack of sleep, frequent feedings, monitoring consistently, diaper changes etc.). Stress can sometimes feed peak performance ; keep one on task. It is important to manage stress. To address stress that is negatively impacting you: talk about feelings ; address problems. Don't avoid them. Aim for 7.5 - 8 hours of sleep/ night. Daily physical activity.
