Cervical spine : Cervical spine immobilization can mean many things. It is used following a spine fracture or surgery. A halo vest is for severe cases where bolts are placed in the skull and a vest maintains the spine in alignment. Rigid collars are indicated in less severe cases. Soft foam collars provide more comfort to patients and less stability.
