What is it some prominence of the central canal in the cervical spine?

Cervical canal : Normally the cervical canal forms a tube-like space through which the spinal cord goes through. This space has leeway to allow to allow for flexibility. If a prominence is in the canal it is taking up space in that tube like space. If too large the prominence could interfere with the spinal cord. The question is how large or small it is ? Does it interfere with the spinal cord or not?
