Mouth wash?: Autistic children are born with difficulties in socialization, communication, and behavior. One unique feature is a compulsive behavior which could include some fears. The child is probably afraid of or displays an aversion for the feeling of the touch of brush. The treatment is behavior modification; you may start with cleaning the teeth with mouth wash until the fear subsides. Therapy is of help.

Helping disabled : Helping a disabled patient brush is very individual . Start with a child soft brush that has an attractive color. No toothpaste to start. Too difficult or sensitive. Try their finger or yours to rub their teeth with repetitive motion. Frequency is the key !
