Flossing: Follow all of the home care instructions that your dentist gave you, including flossing and tongue brushing. If you are doing these and breath is still bad look for other causes: sinus, post nasal drip, allergies, gerd, and other GI problems to name some of the more common ones.

Many Causes: Halitosis can occur due to a number of factors. Your dentist was right in starting with the basics... A clean, healthy mouth. Cavities, diet, and acid reflux all play a role in causing bad breath. Those items should also be explored by your medical professionals.
