Modify Risk Factors: Work with your physician to identify major risk factors that can be optimized including blood pressure, lipoproteins (ldl, hdl), blood sugar, weight, diet, and physical activity.

Minimize the Drivers: Best approach: optimize lipoprotein concentrations (hdl & LDL concentration - not cholesterol), low normal blood glucose hba1c <5.0, low normal bp, don't smoke, stay physically active, confront and resolve stress, etc. Ldl is always in nmol/l, best <700, HDL in µmol/l, best large-hdl >10. See NMR particle test, <$100. Angioplasty, stents, bypass surgery, partially treat symptoms & complicate ds.
