Botox: Botulinum toxin can weaken those facial fibers but may need to be maintained for around 4-6 months.

Abberant fibers: Botox can be potentially helpful for an overactive muscle. Nerves that reconnect to the wrong muscle after surgery are difficult to isolate but their identification and blockage by an alcohol nerve block can make a permanent change.

Maybe Botox: Sounds like you had an injury to the facial nerve and some of the regenerating nerve fiber got crossed. Difficult problem. Botox may help. Seek advice from your TMJ surgeon. If that is not helpful, see another TMJ surgeon for a second opinion. Hopefully one who used botox.
