See below: If the skin lump is small, removal makes sense. It can be done by a shave biopsy technique or a surgical removal with stitches. If it is larger, we recommend biopsying a portion of it so that the appropriate removal is done with a single operation in the most cosmetic way.

Send for pathology: As long as he sends the tissue for pathology you are okay. He might just be using different terminology. Raise your concerns with him prior to the procedure.
