Both needed: I think that a balanced approach to exercise and nutrition are key to successful long term weight loss and health. Each type of exercise aerobic, resistance, intervals are all needed. Weight lifting and sprinting develop muscle mass which increase your basal metabolic rate which long term results in fat loss - maybe not as much weight loss cause muscle so much heavier than fat.

U need both: A combination of sprints 1/week and walking at a moderate pace 3 times a week is best. Also add weight truing 1-2 times a week.
