This apparent idiosyncratic reaction to drinking alcohol may be explained by it causing an inflammatory reaction in your gastrointestinal tract leading to the development of abdominal bloating. This is different from the irritative effect causing gastritis or pancreatitis. You may have to socialize while drinking only non alcoholic beverages or drinks with milder alcohol content.

Symptoms are suggestive of early liver disease as the alcohol is metabolized slower by the liver and that affects your digestion as well. Would suggest seeing your doc and having blood work done. Adopt an alcohol free socializing entourage until more known.

Alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever, so stay away from it. It will destroy your brain cells, damage testicular cells that make testosterone, facilitate development of cancer in many organs, cause hepatitis, cirrhosis and pancreatitis etc. There is no safe level of alcohol intake. Quit while you are ahead.
