It's unlikely: A ganglion cyst on your back could cause those kinds of symptoms. It may be a pilonidal cyst or something else unrelated causing sciatica. First, get diagnosed. One of the best treatments for sciatica is acupuncture. Feel better!

Seek specialist: Buttock cysts are rarely ganglion cyst. Most likely it could be a pilonidal cyst or a benign tumor like lipoma or neurofibroma. A general surgeon should answer the questions after examination.
