Get seen: We are seeing a lot of flu right now. Those symptoms are suspicious. Chest pain could be from cough, muscle aches or just the illness in general. I would make sure that you do not have pneumonia on top of that. Your physician can help you determine the cause.

Go to UC: You might have a virus but you could also have pneumonia. Chest pain with coughing could be pleuritic chest pain due to inflammation in your lungs or it could be strain on your muscles, bones and cartilage from coughing so hard. In any event, fever and a cough warrants letting a doctor put his/her stethoscope to your chest to see if you have pneumonia.
