Kids: You should have them see their pediatrician to determine what is causing their recurrent symptoms. If they are having cough after running around or during their sleep, they may have asthma. Your doctor should evaluate their current febrile illness. Children at that age will acquire repeated viral infections from other children during the winter season.

Probably Viral..: I would agree with the comment . This may be a new infection, probably viral in origin. If there is any associated breathing difficulty, rash, etc, they should be seen if they have not had the flu vaccine this season, going in for a n/p swab flu test is reasonble within 48 hours so that you may be treated if positive.
