Sore throat, dry cough, runny nose and on off fever for 2 weeks. 5th day of 2x 675mg augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) but still hurts to swallow. do i need prednisolone?

ST fever: Maybe. COuld also be viral and all the abx in the world will not help. At 2 weeks in some blood work, chest x-ray would be in order. Was throat swab/culture done? Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) seems like a pretty "BIg Gun" to use for simple strep pharyngitis. Please see your provider for further evaluation.

Continue Treatment: $-5 days into a 2 week course of antibiotics is early. Continue the treatment, and you should be feeling a gradual improvement. If you worsen, contact your doctor..
