Take a deep breath: Okay so what you are getting done is a very important procedure. If you are not sure what the procedure is, i would strongly suggest another physician who explains it to you. You are going to have something made to become your new acl (hamstring/btb/cadaver). You are also going to have your meniscus either repaired or part of it removed. Yes swelling. Walking in a month or so and 6 months tota.

Talk to your surgeon: It will be swollen and painful in the first few days for sure. The question of walking is hard to answer without knowing what is going to be done to the meniscus... You should get all the answers from your surgeon. If you do not, i would reconsider your choice of a surgeon.
