ACL: Usually outpatient with a scope using bone-tendon-bone or hamstring tendons, or possibly( less likely) achilles, quad turndown, or cadaveric. Meniscus surgery in this case would be partial meniscectomy vs. Repair. Usually immediate weight bear with crutches. Most of the time using a brace. It normally swells initially.

Good questions: Breathe. These are great questions for you surgeon as each doc has specific desires and timelines after surgery. For me you walk the next day with pt. Yes there is swelling and pain but it is easily managed. The procedure is to replace your present torn acl with another one. Write down your questions on a paper and ask your doc by face or by email.
