Temporizing Treatmen: Incision and drainage is when a physician makes a specific type of incision to remove the pus inside a pilonidal cyst. This is not a cure for pilonidal disease. It is a temporizing treatment to remove the active infection. To cure the disease, a subsequent surgery must be done once all the inflammation has subsided.
