How does pilonidal cyst drainage and surgery work?

It depends: All pilonidal cysts are infected to a degree. When there is redness and pus drainage is done. Whe the infection is controlled wide excision is done. Either method carry a 30% recurrence rate.

2 different things: Drainage is for active infections surgery is for cure, which is usually reserved for cases without active infection.
