See your surgeon: in the united states we do not close pilonedal cyst,because they split open because of the location and 80% get infected we let them heal from the inside out. i do not know what kind of technic your surgeon did. check with your surgeon.

Yes possible: In Bascom technique , a flap is created ,after excision of pilonidal cyst obliterating inter gluteal grove , possible to collect some fluid under the flap , call your doctor for follow up , to check the intactness of flap.
